PROF. ROGER ROCHAT

CHEIF ADVISOR

CDC supported Roger Rochat’s studying demography at Princeton. He returned to CDC, spent a year in the CDC Director’s Office of Program Planning and Evaluation supporting medical care for Tuskegee survivors, then returned to the Family Planning Evaluation Division. With CDC’s major reorganization in 1980-81, he became the first Director of the Division of Reproductive Health. In 1985, CDC assigned me to Emory to develop the Global Health Track, and in 1987 to USAID, New Delhi for two years—in charge of Population, Health and Nutrition. When he returned from India, he spent six years developing Maternal and Child Health epidemiology in the Georgia Health Department. After 30 years with CDC working in 40+ countries and with most State Health Departments, he retired from CDC in 1999—went with my brother briefly to Antarctica—and then joined RSPH, the first two years in Epidemiology and now in Global Health. He served as Director of Graduate Studies from 2003-2016 and since August 2016, he serve as Coordinator, Humphrey Fellowship Program..

adam eid ramsey

INTERNATIONAL ADVISOR

Dr. Ramsey is an Editorial Board Member at the Harvard Public Health Review, the CEO of the NYC Daily Post and a contributing medical writer for the Los Angeles Tribune. He is a world-renowned lecturer, an entrepreneur and the author of more than 100 medical papers, articles, reports and manuscripts. Prior to his current roles, he served as the Alt-Resident Representative to the Board of Directors at the NY State Academy of Family Physicians and a Board Member of its Operations Commission as well as its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce. He was also a research fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School as well as a college professor at various institutions including Upper Iowa University, Nunez and Delgado community Colleges. Dr. Ramsey received his MD (Doctor of Medicine) from Avalon University School of Medicine. He did his undergraduate education in biology at the City College of New York and his basic sciences from Cairo University School of Medicine. Dr. Ramsey has inspired and educated audiences through his work around the world. He has been a popular figure in the medical field and has nurtured future doctors through his numerous research papers, articles and other writings. Dr. Ramsey is a respected member of his community who’s known for his humility and professionalism. His passion has garnered him the support of many young medical residents hoping to pursue similar goals. An amazingly versatile person, Dr. Ramsey brings a wealth of knowledge to all of his pursuits. He also enjoys spending time with his family, watching soccer and traveling the world in hopes of learning as much as he can about new cultures.

DR. VLADYSLAV SIKORA

Vladyslav V. Sikora is a MD, PhD, Associate Professor at Pathology Department of Medical institute of Sumy State University, Sumy, Ukraine. Also, he currently work as Head of the Scientific society of students, postgraduates and young scientists; and Сoordinator of scientific work at Medical Institute of Sumy State University. At the same time he works as a doctor at Pathology department at Sumy regional clinical hospital. Doctor Sikora is member of European society of pathology and Ukrainian association of pathology. He is a specialist in urinary and reproductive systems pathology, oncology, environment pollution, ekomorphology.

DR. ALBINA ZHARKOVA

Albina V. Zharkova is a MD, PhD, Associate Professor Family Medicine Department at Sumy State University, Ukraine and a member of Ukrainian Association of Family Physicians; WONCA, EURACT, EGPRN, EQUIP. She is a specialist in Public Health, Cardiology, Sports Medicine, Family Medicine.

DR. CANDICE DANIELLE CARPENTER

INTERNATIONAL ADVISOR

Dr. Candice Carpenter is Co-CEO and Co-Founder of the non-profit, The Boston Congress of Public Health. She serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the HPHR Journal and as the Executive Producer of HPHR Health News. She is also a physician, bioentrepreneur, educator, and social justice advocate. Recently, she was an Equity/Diversity/Inclusion Fellow and a member of the Anti-Racism Committee of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Diversity and Inclusion at Harvard Chan School of Public Health. From 2017-2019, she was a Fellow for the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Leadership Program. She is a graduate of the Oxford’s Women Leadership in Entrepreneurship Programme in 2020, and Oxford’s Social Impact Program in 2019-2020. She holds an M.B.A. from Oxford University Said Business School, an MPH in Public Health Leadership and Health & Social Behavior from the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, an M.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, an Ed.M. in Mind, Brain, Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University.

DR. MASHKUR ISA

INTERNATIONAL ADVISOR

VMashkur Isa has a background in medicine and is a current Master of Public Health student at the University of Sheffield as an Erasmus+: Erasmus Mundus excellence scholarship Awardee. He serves as a Youth Ambassador for the European Cancer Leagues (ECL) where he advocates for cancer prevention in line with the European Code Against Cancer. Additionally, he serves as Vice-President of External Affairs for InciSioN - the International Student Surgical Network, an organization working towards the goal of access to safe, timely, and affordable surgical care for all, in addition to Universal Health Coverage. His passion for global health, medical education, youth development and research has seen him take roles in several organizations. He is an avid volunteer and has served as a Global Schools Advocate for the Global Schools Program - a SDSN-youth initiative, a TeachSDGs ambassador, an ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation, Climate Action Group, Project Director at IOPGC as well as is involved in various capacities with organizations such as African Young Leaders for Global Health, CHRONmate, CEPASD, Youth organization for the European and African Union, Sheffield World Health Organisation Simulation (SheffWHO), The Human Project, MedSchool Xtra, to name a few. Mashkur has a wealth of experience organizing, participating and speaking at international conferences receiving several awards. He believes youths should utilize any and all opportunities available to not only develop themselves but also make a positive impact in their community and the world at large. As an African Changemakers fellow, he sees youth activism, advocacy, and diplomacy as invaluable tools to influence and create change through research and policies

Nadiia Hlushchenko, PHD

Nadiia Hlushchenko is a PhD, assistant, Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology and Biomolecular Engineering at Sumy State University, Ukraine. She is a university lecturer of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology for the Medical and Dental students. She was a pediatrician at Sumy Regional Clinical Children Hospital, Ukraine from 2006 to 2008. Her main responsibilities as a pediatrician were to examine ill children from 1 month till 17 years old. She has an interest in research of biocomposite materials, with a focus on hydroxyapatite and alginate applied to medicine; how trace elements influence the human body. She is also interested in modern teaching methods for students in the medical fields. She took part as a tutor in Projects 530519-TEMPUS-1-2012-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR “Establishment of the Supra-Regional network of National Centres in Medical Education, focused on PBL (problem-based learning) / Implementation of Innovation Teaching Strategies in Medical Education and development of an International network focused on National Learning Centres. She also participated in Erasmus+ program as a University teacher at Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Neuroscience of Umeå University, Sweden in October 2018.

Hrebenyk Liudmyla Ivanivna, PHD

Hrebenyk Liudmyla Ivanivna is a Ph.D., Ass. Prof. at the Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Biomolecular Engineering at Sumy State University, Ukraine. She is a lecturer in biochemistry, clinical biochemistry and responsible for organizing educational processes in biochemistry, clinical biochemistry, and problem-based learning at the Department of Biophysics, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Biomolecular Engineering of Medical Institute (SumDU, Ukraine, Sumy). The researcher's field is in biochemistry, drug interaction with biomolecules, physicochemical and biological properties of hybrid nanomaterials, nanosafety, and eco-toxicity of new nanomaterials.

Athanasios Alexiou

Dr. Athanasios Alexiou

Dr. Athanasios Alexiou has a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics Algorithms and Mathematical Modeling in Biology, and a two-year Postdoc Research Fellowship in Neuroinformatics Applications from the Ionian University in Greece. Nowadays, he serves as a Faculty Member of the Novel Global Community Education Foundation in Australia. He is also the head of the scientific advisory board of the AFNP Med Company in Austria. His main research field is Biomedical Informatics and Bioethics, specializing in Computational Neuroscience, Medical Decision Support Systems, Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Biomarkers Modeling. He has over 20 years of educational experience and mentoring in teaching Computer Science and the Theory of Algorithms. He serves as an associate editor in high-impact journals with over 100 publications and several research projects in neuroscience.

Shady Abohashem

DR. Shady Abohashem

INTERNATIONAL ADVISOR

Dr. Abohashem is a faculty member at Massachusetts General Hospital, instructor at Harvard Medical School, and Master of Public Health candidate at Harvard School of Public Health. He is a selected early career member of the Leadership Development Program, Education and Social media task force Committees of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He is also an ad hoc reviewer at European Heart Journal, Journal of American College of Cardiology, and Editorial board member at Frontiers in nuclear medicine, Frontiers in cardiovascular medicine-cardiovascular imaging, and BMC Cardiovascular disorders journal. Dr. Abohashem interested in Climate and health Justice, Mental health, and public health equity. He is a Climate for Health Ambassador at ecoAmerica Organization and Climate advocate member at Sierra Club and Citizen Climate Lobby. Dr. Abohashem research is focused on studying the intersection between cardiovascular diseases and imaging. One area of interest is studying the brain-heart connection using advanced molecular imaging and understanding the link between Socioeconomic and environmental stressors and cardiovascular diseases in general population and in disadvantaged marginalized communities. Dr. Abohashem’s current research is focused on investigating the interplay between imaging phenotypes, genetic factors, stress, environmental pathogens (i.e., air and noise pollutions), lifestyle factors, health disparities and their roles in contributing to cardiovascular diseases including calcific aortic valve disease.
